Avinash Waghray, PhD

 

Avinash grew up as a nomad traveling the small towns next to army bases in India. He finally stumbled through science degrees (a couple of redundant Master’s programs) and ended up in a PhD program in the 'Big apple’ studying transcriptional networks of pluripotency. He joined the lab in 2015 to study mechanisms of cell plasticity in lung regeneration.

 

What drew you to your field?

The lung as a model organ to study regeneration and stem cell biology. 

 

What do you do when you’re not in the lab?

Biking, Racquet sports and hiking
